I bet most of us would honestly answer, “No but I sure wish it were true!”  Here are some steps you can take to get you there:

1. Create a “bucket list” of things you’d like to do or experience in your life.  This will become the motivation for you to let go of your business responsibilities and enjoy your life!  Remember – you are entitled to this perk!

2. Make a list of those business items you like to do and those you don’t, then create a plan to delegate these to your staff.

3. Make a list of your strengths and weaknesses as a business owner and leader and make a plan to shore up those weaknesses.  Don’t forget to help train or mentor staff members so they can develop similar strengths in the future.

4. Give your staff the leeway to make mistakes, learn from them and take on more responsibility.  This will help you to gain confidence in your staff’s abilities and ease you into that 3-month long world vacation (or “fill in the blank experience”) you’d like to take.
